Maine Dental Access Map

The sites on this map are options for Mainers with urgent or routine oral health needs who do not have an established dental home. All of these sites offer affordable sliding fee self-pay options as well as MaineCare and commercial insurance, unless otherwise noted.

As of July 1, 2022 MaineCare covers full dental care for adults, including preventive care like cleanings, diagnostic care, and restorative care, like fillings and dentures. For more information about this benefit and how to get care you can learn more here.

If a person is already an established patient with a dental provider, we recommend first calling that provider to discuss options for an urgent appointment before calling another provider.

If you are experiencing a life-threatening emergency, call 911.

If the closest dental provider is too far away for you to travel to them, try giving them a call anyway as they may be able to provide helpful advice over the phone. They may also be able to refer you to another provider closer to your location. You can also call your Primary Care Provider for assistance.

This map was produced and is maintained by the Children’s Oral Health Network of Maine (modeled on a similar map created by the North Carolina Oral Health Coalition).
