COHN acts as a field catalyst, a collaborative organization focused on achieving population-level systems change.
COHN’s approach fosters four essential strengths of field catalyst organizations:
- a deep understanding of the problem and ecosystem
- a vision for equitable and sustainable population-level change
- trusting relationships and credibility
- an organizer’s mindset
Unrestricted funding and support from the Sadie & Harry Davis Foundation has given COHN partners the time and resources they needed to connect, to better understand how dental disease is affecting children in Maine, and to collectively design solutions that address systemic problems. This puts the Network in a unique position to affect change: now that we have a nuanced and complex picture of the issue, we see how and where to take thoughtful and strategic action.
