Cavity Free Futures
The Cavity Free Futures (CFF) program is an initiative of the Children's Oral Health Network of Maine.
Tooth decay (cavities) is the most common chronic disease of childhood, and treating it calls for a chronic disease management approach. Cavity Free Futures (CFF) provides tools for people who work with families to help families identify and reduce their cavity risk and work towards a truly cavity-free future. Designed for community health workers, medical team members, school nurses, early childhood care providers, and other community-facing roles, CFF capitalizes on the trusted relationships families already have with individuals in these roles to receive peer coaching to guide families to understand the factors that contribute to tooth decay, make informed decisions about daily habits and preventive strategies, and set realistic goals to reduce the impacts of dental caries.
